An opportunity has arisen for a Handyperson within a charity based in Portsmouth. The Roberts Centre enjoys a reputation for its work with families and children and has achieved national recognition for its high quality services in the areas of Homelessness, Parenting and Childcare.

The Roberts Centre charity has a reputation for developing innovative effective services to support vulnerable people, families and children who are struggling to improve their difficult circumstances whether from homelessness, debt, tenancy issues or family breakdown in Hampshire.

Providing a comprehensive property maintenance service, you will carry out minor repairs and re-decoration, co-ordinate and oversee contractors, assist with inspections and ensure that electrical checks and gas safety checks are completed swiftly and accurately.

We are looking for somebody who has a building or maintenance qualification and will have practical experience in plumbing, carpentry, lock changing, gardening, painting and decorating. You should be familiar using office computer programmes and be comfortable building relationships with customers from all walks of life. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is committed to continuous improvement and upholding property standards across the organisation.

You will be an integral part of the Roberts Centre and Temporary Accommodation team and will share our values and have the passion to help us to improve the lives of Children and Families.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by the Roberts Centre.
