The University of Portsmouth Dental Academy invites applications for a full time Term time Dental Nurse. The Dental Academy offers the following academic awards: BSc (Hons) in Hygiene/Therapy, a Certificate of Higher Education in Dental Nursing and a Dental Development Programme in Science and Dental Therapy and clinical primary care outreach for final year dental students from the Kings’ College London Dental Institute.

The Dental nurse post provides nursing support to staff and students and contributes to the effective delivery of the clinical service and clinical education. Duties will include chair side support, maintaining patient records, and support on the clinical floor (comprising forty-four chairs). 

An enthusiastic approach to students is required along with good interpersonal and clinical skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate high clinical standards and excellence in patient care. 

Applicants must hold a Dental Nursing Qualification and current full registration with the General Dental Council, and have professional indemnity.

A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service clearance at Enhanced level is also required.
