Innovation Space (along with Technopole and Cell Block Studies) are separate buildings that house entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses in innovative environments that support and nurture their growth. These facilities are key University investments to build value from engagement with businesses, and currently house numerous innovative companies who can engage with the University, benefiting both.

The Innovation Space Officer will support the development of Innovation Space (along with Technopole and Cell Block Studies). The post will be key to facilitating the effective running of the Innovation Space and Cell Block Studios in particular, the relationships between the people and businesses housed in them, the broader University and local business community.

The essential responsibilities of the Innovation Centre Officer will be:

-   The day-day running of the building and providing front of house support.

-   To organise, promote and host events within the Innovation Space (along with the Cell Block Studios when appropriate) supporting the activities of the University.
-    Proactively support the work of the University's Research & Innovation Services department in identifying, developing and promoting opportunities in line with the University Research and Innovation Strategy.
-    To provide a single point of contact for internal and external clients engaged with Innovation Space and Cell Block Studios, ensuring that excellent customer relationships are developed, managed and maintained through active engagement. 

Practical knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages and office management procedures will be required, along with practical knowledge and experience of using a Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) or an equivalent database. We are seeking someone with customer service experience and experience of working in a busy office environment. Good organisational and time-management skills will be vital along with a demonstrable ability to work to deadlines, use initiative to solve problems and effectively manage and prioritise a large number of activities. Because this role will involve working between different groups of people excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required, and an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
