Interview date: 12 September 2017

The Faculty is seeking to appoint a Learning Development Tutor in the area of generic academic skills to work, initially in the School of Education and Childhood Studies.

Learning Development Tutors provide high quality learning and skills support to our students, under guidance from lecturing staff.  The successful candidate will join our current team of Learning Development Tutors working across the four Schools in the Faculty.

Tutors will contribute to the sourcing, production, evaluation and enhancement of learning support materials in a variety of media. Tutors will also work with the central Academic Skills Unit (ASK) which is located in the Department for Curriculum and Quality Enhancement.

Specifically, we are looking for applicants with knowledge and experience of providing generic academic skills support.

The selection process will be in two stages. Stage one will involve tests for proof reading, comprehension and summarising skills, to be followed by a formal panel interview during which candidates will be asked to give a short presentation.

The successful candidates will be offered an extensive induction programme, training and mentorship, with further opportunities for professional development.
