We are looking for a General Assistant/Handyman to work across 3 of our residential units.

You will be responsible for the general maintenance and Health and Safety across our 3 units, Victory, Edinburgh House and Hilsea Lodge at the request of the Unit Manager. You will work 2 Days at Edinburgh house and be lined managed by the manager there and then 11 hours per week in each of the other two homes., and have set days in each home (with some flexibility to undertake specific projects). You will also carry out repair and maintenance activities at various sites across the city.

Ideally you will be from a construction or associated trades background possessing the skills to able to carry out repair and maintenance actions and minor works and have Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) experience or be willing to undertake the required training.

You will also need to have a driving Licence and the use of a car for business travel around the City to enable you to carry out repair and maintenance activities at various sites across the city.

Finally a little bit of information about the units:

The Victory Unit is a new purpose built residential home situated in the Hilsea area of Portsmouth. The service works closely with the local hospital, and community providing a step-down and step up Service, offering a therapy programme to enable people to return to their own homes.

Edinburgh House based in Cosham, this is a 30 bed residential unit, for adults with dementia.

Hilsea Lodge is a 35 bedded PCC-run residential unit providing short- and long-term accommodation and care for adults with a diagnosis of dementia.
