We are currently recruiting for an effective and dynamic Operations Manager to join a highly successful process led manufacturing company near the Hampshire/Dorset border. The successful manager will ensure that the sites resources are effectively used to satisfy increasing demands and drive improvement activities across the site.

You will require the following skills and experience:

• Strong people skills to lead and inspire. Able to command the respect of peers, challenge present operations and be able to influence change and embracement of new methodologies within production. • Experience at senior management level. • Have a proven track record in batch or continuous manufacturing. • You will be a solutions-orientated, analytical thinker with vision. • Must also be able to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines. • Excellent planning, negotiating, and organising skills. • A background in chemical process or polymer would be advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the General Manager determine and implement the company strategy to support continued company growth. • Being accountable for several direct reports - Quality Assurance Manager, Production Engineer, Supply Chain Manager, Technical Manager and several Team Leaders. • To achieve on time delivery with delivery performance and OTIF best in class. • To ensure quality is a continuously improving by leading the identification of improvement projects with favourable results reflected in labour efficiency, process improvement and cost reductions. • To develop a continuous improvement culture based on best practise, knowledge-based support and data with training in Improvement tools and Process Engineering techniques to members of the organisation as appropriate. • Strategic analysis and planning across all aspects of the business, including: engineering, operations, production, procurement, service delivery and key project management. • To set clear and cohesive strategic objectives across all Operational departments that link to company strategy and ensure the expectations of internal and external customers are met. • Manage department budgets.
