JOB TITLE Seasonal Production Assistant

SALARY £11,544.00 per annum (£20,202.00 FTE) rising to:
£11,897.60 per annum (£20,820.80 FTE) from April 2024
HOURS 20 hours per week / 08:00-12:00 / five days per week (0.57 FTE)
CONTRACT 6 month fixed term (March – September)

About The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Seasonal Production Assistant to join our Garden and Retail teams at West Dean, playing a pivotal role in supporting our sustainability aim to grow sustainable and local products.
The successful candidate will work with our Gardens and Retail teams to produce and merchandise around 300 plants per week to sell from our retail outlets (West Dean Stores & Gardens Gift Shop), including the maintenance of those areas, as well as to use within our food service outlets. Candidates will also work closely with our Head Gardener to grow, harvest and distribute seasonal produce throughout the Campus, during their contracted period, also liaising with chefs and catering teams.
What You Can Offer Us
Successful candidates will need good horticultural knowledge and excellent organisational skills. Experience within a horticultural role is essential and having experience of working within a merchandising role would be beneficial, as this role is to grow and sell our produce. Attention to detail and being able to work on your own initiative.
